HippoCamp: A Conference for Creative Nonfiction, at the time of this post, is going strong! There’s a lot of live-tweeting and Instagramming — if you’re not here, we encourage you to follow along. Here’s how:

Follow Along with HippoCamp on Social

We’re using the official hashtag #HippoCamp22 on Twitter and Instagram; our username on both is @hippocampusmag. Attendees are sharing nuggets of wisdom from our speakers and readers and pictures of Lancaster and other anecdotes.

Look for Our Recap Page

The week after the conference, we’ll create a recap page that has links to some slide decks and resources and possibly some attendee-written recap blog posts. If you’re on our newsletter, you’ll get a link to it. Otherwise, check our conference website next week (Aug. 15th) for the “RECAP” page!

Explore Speaker Books on BookShop.org

Hippocampus Magazine & Books is a Bookshop.org affiliate, and we made a “list” for HippoCamp speaker books. It’s the next best thing to being at our conference book sale table! Explore the list here. (It also includes speakers from previous years!)

Get the Creative Nonfiction Craft Book Inspired by HippoCamp

It’s about the year anniversary of the publication of the craft anthology, Getting to the Truth: The Craft and Practice of Creative Nonfiction, which was inspired by the first six years of our conference. 22 past presenters (or, in some cases, writers for our magazine’s craft column) turned their highly rated session into a craft essay. SO MUCH CNF GOODNESS!

Consider Attending or Presenting Next Year

We’ll soon announce the days for HippoCamp 2023 — and we’ll update this blog post once we have them. The call for session proposals will open in September. This year, more than half our presenters are first-time speakers at HippoCamp!

Have a great rest of your summer, and we hope to see you next year!
