During the weekend of August 10–11, Hippocampus Magazine is hosting a series of online readings, craft sessions, and discussions all related to creative nonfiction! This weekend-long event is in place of HippoCamp: A Conference for Creative Nonfiction Writers, which was typically held each August and is on hiatus.
A major highlight of the in-person conference was A Night of Nonfiction: Debut Author Readings & Panel Discussion. Now, for the third time, we’re bringing this beloved event online.

Date: Saturday, Aug. 10
Time: 6 to 8 p.m. (ET), with a 15-minute intermission
Place: Online, via Zoom webinar
Cost: Free/Pay-What-You-Wish (suggested donation $10)

Night of Nonfiction Line-Up
We’re incredibly excited to announce this year’s debut CNF author line-up, as well as introduce our featured guest who will cap off the readings. (It also makes us a little too giddy that we can use the phrase “we’ve got authors from A to Z.”!)
We’re so pleased to welcome the following writers, including a few past contributors, conference attendees, and volunteers:

There’s such a variety here in theme, subgenre/format, and backgrounds and life experiences, and we can’t wait for ALL OF IT! In the meantime, we hope you will explore these books (if you have not already!)

- HippoCamp Minis Part 1: CRAFT – Saturday morning/early afternoon – five 10-minute talks on an aspect of craft
- CNF Deep Dives: Saturday afternoon (choose from a few 60-minute talks)
- HippoCamp Minos Part 2: PUBLISHING & PROMOTION – Sunday afternoon – five 10-minute talks on an aspect of publishing and promoting your work
- An Evening With the Editors: Small Press Editor Roundtable – Sunday evening
- Some other informal activities!
